We plan to bring the beta test back online for a couple of weeks prior to the game's launch to complete our testing. We'll have more details to share about when this final beta-testing phase will begin at a later date.
I still have Combat Arms, but now that I have no control of parental controls I cannot play it.

| Zero you want to know why mechs are obsolete?
When on the scale of buildings, they would be gigantic and expensive targets that could be easily hit by significantly cheaper aircraft bombs or artillery from great distances. When on the scale of a tank, they have significantly more surface area and moving parts, making them have overall less armor and be much more vulnerable to damage and malfunction. They'd also have a taller profile than a tracked or wheeled vehicle. In space there's just no reason at all.

| 3 stories high is big.
In reality a mech would be really slow and fall over a lot. The only true advantage over a tank is all terrain capability.
A tank could mount far more weapons than a mech.

| Atomic your talking about right now RIGHT NOW a mech will fail vs a tank right now In the future, tanks shall be obselete vs a mech for they will more mobile and have even more firepower then they do in the games | |

| Videogames. Not real life.
You know how easy it is for a mech to fall over? You know how hard it is for a robot to simply have a walking mechanism, let alone do all that shit in armored core?
By the time we get the mechs (if ever) depicted in games, we will probably have tanks better or to match them. Mobility would be nothing.
Technology may be greater in the future but we cannot change the laws of physics, and they will never change themselves. Weight is always a problem. In some of these games the mechs should be falling over backwards from all the weapons they are bristling with. And with the maneuvers they make, the pilot should be passing out every couple seconds from the G-Force.
In armored core 4, mechs are ridiculously fast and never, ever, fall over. You are comparing real life to videogames. Don't try that. It never works.

| Atomic, the last thing you should do is form conclusions of the future right now. It'll come back at you and bite you in the ass eventually.
Technology ten years from now will be different from technology a hundred years or a thousand years from now. By then we'll have all sorts of shit; artificial gravity, artificial soldiers, artificial life, probably even artificial planets, for all I know.
Just a side note, NASA is planning on more visits to the moon by 2020; Mars is next in 2035. Think of the technology we'll need to meet those deadlines within just decades. Also remember how far humans have come in the last five centuries; From flame torches to lightbulbs, horse-powered carts to sport cars, swords and axes to guns and tanks.
Also, don't forget the potential humans hold. Leonardo da Vinci; created schematics for flying machines and even a wooden tank. The Wright Brothers; achieved mankind's long dream of flight for the first time. It took a while, of course, but we've done so much to overcome previous problems. Now we aim for space, and who knows what will come at us.
We don't know what the future holds, so stop trying to point out things we know today with things we may have in the future. We will definatly have cyborgs with artificial limbs in the future; we already have cyborgs today with hearing aids and pacemakers fore the heart. That means that humans can be more resistant to everything, g-forces included.
I'm not supporting spart. I'm just pointing out your faults.

| Dude, THATS BECAUSE IN AC 4 if that was real life THEY DON'T FALL OVER. they'll fix all that because YOU DON'T WANT TO FALL OVER IN THE MIDDLE OF COMBAT or your screwed. You cannot change the laws of physics and humans imagination/intelligence.
and in japan their actually gonna make a small prototype mech walker thingy.

| ...and then they will promptly fall over.
I do hope you guys realize the ramifications of a bipedal mechanized unit...one it has to have enough support to not make it fall over (as atomic said) and that would make it so bulky that it would be shot down instantly (seeing as all the bulk comes from support, not armor; also more armor on TOP of that would make it too damned heavy making it fall over and a never ending loop ensues).
Also, haha that sucks you're still in school lol

| A prototype mech made today would have to fail quite early. But, is it the same in the future? I highly doubt it. Sure, I agree mechs are impossible for today and for probably another few dozen decades, but what about after that?
Also, ever heard of carbon nanotubes? That can play a huge role.

| Oh my god. The parental controls are out of control.
Blocking almost every site. Amazingly, only this site and google (so far) are unblocked.
And the US has created a 4 legged mech walker. Used mainly for cargo. A simple hard kick in the right spot will be enough to tip it over. A robot system called SWORDS has been developed as well, as robot soldiers. About 3 feet tall, SWORDS robots run on treads. Far more expensive to create and arm than a human soldier though.
Zero. In the 1950s, scientists predicted we would have nuclear powered flying cars by the year 2000.
You are completely correct. I am not saying that future of technology is not possible. I am saying that some physics of videogame mechs are impossible. I would say about the only advantage a mech has over a tank is maneuverability. Legs can go on nearly any surface and climb. Treads cannot. Tanks will have far more armor and probably more weaponry. But who knows? We might in a couple more decades. Or centuries. They are also attempting to give humans eternal life. The scientists say the first person to live to be 1000 years old may already be 60 years old. But keep in mind the scientists in 1950 and nuclear flying cars. Einstein was even still alive in 1950.
